About Coronary Calcium Scoring:
Coronary Calcium Scoring (CCS) is a safe and convenient method of evaluating the presence and severity of coronary atherosclerosis, the main cause of heart attacks and cardiac death. CCS uses CT scanning to assess the level of vessel calcification in the heart resulting in a “calcium score”. This score is then used to determine the presence and degree of atherosclerosis and your relative risk for a serious cardiac event. This procedure costs $450.00.
What To Expect
CCS does not require iodinated contrast. The exam is done during one breath hold using a minimal dose of radiation. The results are then analyzed by our radiologist before a report is issued.
No special preparation is necessary.
