Breast or Chest Wall
- The following will need to be removed prior to the examination:
- Medication patches
- Insulin pumps and glucose monitors
- Hearing aids
- Dentures
- All jewelry and body piercings
- Sweat-wicking clothing and copper/silver socks
- Bobby pins and clip-in hair extensions
- Please advise us if you:
- Think you are or could be pregnant
- Have worked with metal grinders or welding equipment in the past; you may need to have an x-ray of your eyes prior to your exam
- Have a pacemaker or aneurysm clips
- Have had minor or major surgery in the last 6 weeks
- If you suffer from claustrophobia, talk to your doctor about obtaining a mild sedative before coming to your exam- if you do use a sedative, ensure you have a driver present for your exam.
- If you have any additional questions you can reach out to our central booking team. Additionally, you will be provided detailed exam preparation details upon booking your exam.
- Please arrive 30 minutes early, bring your requisition (unless your physician already submitted it on your behalf), Alberta Health Care card (or out of town province health care card), and photo identification with you to your exam!
