Insight Medical Imaging is a radiologist-owned and operated practice. We’re not only a diagnostic imaging provider for Albertans, we’re also a talent destination for the best and brightest in the industry.

We have a blended clinic and hospital-based practice with 27 radiologist partners and associates. Our multi-modality clinics are located throughout the capital region and offer access to 1.5T MRI, 64-slice CT, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, nuclear medicine, pain management, and women’s imaging.

All of our radiologists are registered members with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and we encourage all of our partners and associates to continue their medical education through subspecialty training in modalities of interest.

Job Description

Provides a high standard of patient care, prepares patients for examinations, and explains procedures. Has a thorough understanding of anatomy positioning, radiographic exposure, and radiation protection. Provides efficient, safe breast imaging services to patients with minimal discomfort. Able to work with minimal supervision and or direction.

Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Prepares, performs, reports, and records a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures, with attention to the welfare and comfort of the patient.
  • Reports any recognized unusual or abnormal findings to the Radiologist
  • Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all digital equipment.
  • DI equipment: technologists must have a working knowledge of equipment to ensure that the units are functioning correctly.
  • Responsible for safety measures and the general care and cleanliness of the radiographic area.
  • Knowledge of computer system and all DI office duties.
  • Instructs patients on various examinations as requested.
  • Able to assist in the instruction of new staff members and students.
  • Maintains quality control in the performance of all procedures.
  • Willing to assist a Radiologist or fellow staff member as required.
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment or supply problems.
  • Must maintain the utmost in professional confidence of patient information and/or results.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Handle difficult situations in a sensitive and proactive manner.
  • Ability to perform and think clearly in high stressful or emotional situations.
  • Always maintains a professional attitude when dealing with patients and co-workers.
  • Clinical competency in medical radiography.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of technical parameters for breast imaging.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Provide team support as required.
  • Organize and prioritize assigned work to accommodate work demands.
  • Ability to multi-task” and work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated and self-directed.
  • Report to work on time, dependable and cooperative.


  • MRT(R) Designation in good standing CAMRT/ACMDTT.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years Mammography experience.
  • Completed Mammography Level 1 certification. Level 2 certification is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to learn Breast Ultrasound would be an asset.

Applications from highly motivated and skilled senior radiology residents, fellows, and practicing radiologists are always welcome.

Applicants with Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) designation and planning to pursue or already certified in subspecialty training including musculoskeletal imaging, body imaging, women’s imaging, nuclear medicine, and pain management are preferred and invited to apply with a cover letter and CV.

Compensation is very attractive and commensurate with our busy practice.
Hospital on-call coverage is infrequent and shared equitably.
