Service Dog Policy
At Insight Medical Imaging, we are dedicated to providing empathic patient care in a safe, efficient, and professional clinical environment. To maintain the high standard of care, hygiene, and patient safety required in our clinics, we enforce strict guidelines regarding animals on our premises.
Service Dogs Are Welcome
Under the provincial Service Dogs Act, certified service dogs are permitted in all patient-accessible areas of our clinics.
- Per Alberta Service Dog Identification regulations, service dogs must be professionally trained and certified to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability. Qualified service dog teams must carry an Alberta Service Dog Identification Card to ensure access to public places.
- Our staff reserve the right to request confirmation of certification before entry. Service dog owners must present their official, government-issued service dog identification cards when requested.
Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) Policy
We do not accept Emotional Support Animals (ESAs), therapy animals, or personal pets in our clinics.
- Emotional support or comfort animals and therapy animals are not considered service dogs under Alberta’s Service Dogs Act and Service Dogs Qualifications Regulations. They are considered pets and do not have the same rights as service dogs.
- To ensure the health, safety, and strict hygiene standards required in our clinical imaging environment, we do not accept Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) or personal pets in our clinics. While we understand and respect the comfort emotional support animals provide their owners, only trained, certified service dogs are permitted in our clinics.
Preparing for Your Visit
If you rely on a certified service dog, please notify our Central Booking team before your appointment so we can accommodate your needs. If you arrive with an Emotional Support Animal or personal pet, you will be asked to remove your animal from the clinic before your exam can proceed.
