Coronary CT Angiography

  1. No solid food 4 hours before the exam.
  2. No caffeine or exercise 12 hours before the exam (this includes chocolate, pop, tea, decaffeinated beverages, protein powders, vitamin water, etc.).
  3. Beta-blocker medication (Metoprolol) is necessary to slow your heart rate prior to the exam; prescribed by your ordering doctor. Please take this as directed (usually 1 pill the night before and 1 pill 2 hours before the exam).  
  4. Bring your requisition (unless your physician already submitted it on your behalf), Alberta Health Care card (or out of town province health care card), and photo identification with you to your exam!
  5. We are a scent-free environment. Please refrain from from using perfumes or heavily scented products when you or your care giver enter our clinics. Many of our staff are sensitive to perfumes and scented products. Using perfumes or heavily scented products may disrupt the completion of your exam.
