Pregnancy (Obstetric)

  1. Wear comfortable clothing.
  2. Empty your bladder 90 minutes before your exam, then drink four (8oz) glasses of water, finishing all four glasses at least 60 minutes before your exam. Please refrain from urinating until the exam has been completed or you consult with your sonographer.
  3. One other person will be allowed in the exam room with you for the whole duration of the exam.
  4. Bring your requisition (unless your physician already submitted it on your behalf), Alberta Health Care card (or out of town province health care card), and photo identification with you to your exam!
  5. Please note that your exam may be conducted by either a male or female technologist. If you have a preference and would like to request a specific gender, please notify us in advance so that we can accommodate your request when scheduling your appointment.
  6. We are a scent-free environment. Please refrain from using perfumes or heavily scented products when you or your care giver enter our clinics. Many of our staff are sensitive to perfumes and scented products. Using perfumes or heavily scented products may disrupt the completion of your exam.
